Q. What’s the room like? A. The room is private, the lights are dim and music is relaxing. The massage tables are hydraulic, accommodating each individual’s comfort.
Q. Are there different kinds of massage and bodywork? A. There are numerous types of massage and bodywork; various techniques utilize different strokes, including basic rubbing strokes, rocking movement, stretching for repetitive muscle use, application of pressure to specific points, and warm stones.
Q. What do I wear? A. You may undress to your own level of comfort. It’s important to mention however, that to receive the most effective work on your back, your undergarments should be removed. You will be properly draped at all times keeping you warm and comfortable.
Q. How long will the session last? A. The average full-body massage or bodywork session lasts approximately an hour. A half-hour appointment only allows time for a partial massage session, such as neck and shoulders, back or legs and feet. Many people prefer a 60 to 90 minute session for optimal relaxation. Always allow relaxation time prior to and after the session.
Q. What type of massage oil do you use? A. We’ve selected jojoba oil (pronounced ho-ho-ba). It is a pure expeller pressed extract of jojoba seed. It’s non-allergenic and non-staining. It is a liquid ester comparable to the ester we produce in our skin.
Q. How will I feel after a session? A. Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity.
Q. Are there any medical conditions that would make massage inadvisable? A. Before you begin your session, the massage therapist will ask some general health questions. It is very important that you list any health problems or medications you are taking. If you are under a doctor’s care, it is strongly advised that you receive a written recommendation for massage or bodywork prior to any session.
